Conscious Capitalism: Liberating the Heroic Spirit of Business states, “Together we create our future reality, so we should do so consciously, collaboratively, and responsibly.” Since the day I moved here, I have been amazed at the growth Nashville is having as a city. With buildings being built left and right, countless businesses opening their doors, and a flourishing social scene, it’s far too easy to think “What can Nashville do for me?” I’ll be the first to admit that I’ve thought that quite often over the last few months. After all, it’s because of this growth that I decided to start Halo. The problem with this attitude is that there’s no end to it.

Imagine living in a community where businesses and people invested locally and transformed those who needed help into those doing the helping.

As a community we MUST be aware that although our city is booming, there will always be  areas that could use improving. Most of these “areas” are in fact our fellow Nashvillians. They are fathers and mothers, sons and daughters, ages ranging from 1 month to 80 years. Some are homeless, some have disabilities, others might need a mentor after school, or maybe just a second chance. Whatever their story, we should view them in the same light as we do everyone else.

We have to realize that it’s up to us who benefit from the city’s growth to help those in need. The fact that we can do it “in-house” and not rely on outside forces should inspire people to at least give it a try. Imagine living in a community where businesses and people invested locally and transformed those who needed help into those doing the helping. I don’t know about you, but “What can I do for Nashville?” sounds a whole lot better than “What can Nashville do for me?” The best part about it, everyone can invest what they wish (as long as it’s positive and betters the community). At Halo Mobile Detailing we invest locally through selecting a non-profit each month and donating 10% of our profits to their cause. That’s what we do, but maybe you’ll do something else. Maybe you’ll invest your time volunteering or provide the needed resources for a project. Whatever the investment, you can rest assured knowing that you’re doing your part in making OUR city a better place to live.

Together we create our future reality, so we should do so consciously, collaboratively, and responsibly.”

BE THE CHANGE.
